AS OUR BACKEND DEVELOPER, YOU WILL...

• Become a key member of team consisting of 2 - 10 developers specialized in backend, Android, and iOS development who are responsible for building and maintaining 1 - 3 existing or new projects.
• Be part of a company that prioritize work-life balance and recognize that employees perform at their best when their personal life is supported and stable.
• Participate in creating scalable, maintainable, and tested software that we can work with over the next several years.
• Work in close collaboration with our design, quality assurance, and strategic teams to build delightful products that make a difference in people’s lives.
• Deploy and monitor the developed solutions to ensure high availability and low error rates. We typically use containerized environments on AWS or Azure.
• Get the opportunity to share your knowledge with your fellow colleagues as well as learn from them during day-to-day work and our scheduled knowledge-sharing sessions.
• Operate in an open, inspiring, and highly trust-based environment, where your opinion matters a lot and will highly define the direction of our codebases as well as the experience we deliver to our users.
• Be assigned a mentor, regardless of your experience level, for the first weeks at work, just so you can get familiar with the Shape ways of working (and coding).

SOME OF THE THINGS WE LOOK FOR...

• Experience building APIs using Typescript.
• Motivation to become a part of and learn from a team of experienced and passionate developers for backend, web, iOS and Android.
• An interest in system architecture, caching techniques, REST API design and data modeling.
• Experience working with relational databases such as Postgres and Elastic Search.
• Experience with Docker and at least one public cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP). Having worked with techniques and technologies such as Infrastructure as Code, Load Balancing, Redis, and managed services such as S3 is a plus.
• Experience with running and monitoring applications in production.
• Nice to have: experience with Scala (alternatively Java or Kotlin), Spark, Python.

WORKING HOURS AND SPECIFICATIONS

⏱ Full-time, 37.5 hours a week.

📍 This is a Copenhagen-based, on-site position with flexible remote work possibilities.

💬 English proficiency is a must. Danish language skills are not expected.
