Shape is the leading app agency in Denmark. In 2023 we joined forces with Waterland Private Equity and leading Swedish app agency Bontouch with a joint ambition to create the leading digital product agency worldwide.

Today the group consists of more than 400 employees across offices in Copenhagen, Stockholm, Zurich, New York, London, Åre, Östersund and Kalmar.

The group will continue to grow organically while pursuing international expansion through acquisitions of digital product agencies that have achieved a leading position in their respective markets by delivering best-in-class mobile apps.

As a Business Controller, you will play a significant part in preparing the group for further growth. You will work from our Copenhagen HQ and report to our Group Chief Financial Officer.

THE ROLE OF A BUSINESS CONTROLLER/BUSINESS PARTNER

In the position of Business Controller your role will be to ensure ongoing high-quality deliverables and at the same time have a high focus on developing the function together with the CFO and Group Finance team.
 

More specifically, your responsibilities will be:

• Developing, selecting, and implementing reporting tools for controlling and reporting,
• Driving overall financial control of PL, balance sheet, cash flow, etc.,
• Providing financial insights to local management teams, 
• Providing internal and external reporting on the consolidated group,
• Developing and implementing financial processes throughout the group,
• Budgeting and forecasting, 
• Providing financial insights to our board and management, 
• Overseeing VAT, TP, and tax in cooperation with other specialists,
• ESG,
• Participating in financial due diligence,
• Financial PMI,
• A sparring partner to the group CFO, group finance team, and local management teams. 

WHO ARE YOU?

You have a solid background in finance, and you thrive in a fast-moving environment, with a hands-on approach. You should find it exciting to join the journey of building a group finance function at the early stage applying your skills to building a group finance function with the opportunity to make your mark on how things are done going forward.  

Key to this role is your ability to think ahead, drive for continuous improvement, and ability to work in a structured manner on your own while also thriving in collaboration with the team and other colleagues.

To be considered a strong candidate for this role, you likely possess most of the following:

• Educational background in the area of Cand. merc aud., HD'r, or other relevant master's degree in finance/economics,
• At least three years of professional experience. Preferably some years within an audit and some within a finance department,
• Data-driven mindset,
• Strong IT skills and being a superuser in Excel, and common ERP and BI platforms,
• You take initiative and show the way with a hands-on approach,
• You are proficient in English on a professional level, both orally and in writing. 

As a person, you are self-motivated, and your proactive and positive attitude transmits to your colleagues and other stakeholders. Your strong communication skills enable you to communicate on all levels of the organization while establishing strong collaborative ties.

WORKING HOURS AND SPECIFICATIONS

⏱ Full-time, 37.5 hours a week.

📍 We are offering flexible remote work possibilities, so you don’t have to be based in Copenhagen, but regular visits to the office in Copenhagen will be required. 

💬 English proficiency is a must. Danish language skills are not expected.
